Treulos: The treulos are what we call halflings. The name halfling just didn’t make much sense as the common name since they are actually the most common and influential of the races. Influential is a little bit of a deceptive term since the treulos as a race struggle maintaining a cultural identity and instead tend to adopt the cultures of those around them. The treulos tend to travel and wander and can be found intermixed in all but the most isolated of nations. Their skills as merchants and their tendency to adopt the cultures they live with make them commonly accepted to some degree wherever they are.
Trolls: Trolls are a large race, known for its wisdom and spirituality. As a nation and people they prefer peaceable solutions to conflict, but are well aware that sometimes, violence is necessary. The trolls are massive, but tend to be rounder than other races and have large noses. The trolls were the first race to encounter the treulos and a strong attachment still exists between the two races.
Neuri: Tall and lean, the neuri are still one of the stronger races physically. They have pointy ears and longish faces. The neuri are divided into two basic groups: the Awile and Astabire. The Awile are imperialistic and practice a form of magic called Kisve, which involves the summoning of demons and demonic powers. The Astabire are a much smaller group and split off when the Awile adopted the practice of Kisve. The Astabire are often considered backwards or primitive, especially by the Awile.
Elves: The elves are a very common race and are divided into several nations. These nations have little political attachment among them, but mostly share the concept that elves are superior to all other races. They also believe that they were the first race ever to use magic, despite the fact that many scholars have proven that this is simply not true.
Vanir: The Vanir were originally elves, but have lived apart from them so long they have become their own race. They are taller, more slender, and paler than their elvish cousins. The Vanir originally separated from the elves to form a perfect community by means of a spell. This spell made them into one collective whole that allowed them to share thoughts, feelings, and knowledge constantly, but still maintain their individual will and sense of self, although the community does influence individual will strongly. Since the spell was originally cast, it has now become a basic part of their nature. Occasionally Vanir can be severed from the community by a magical ritual.
Dwarves: The dwarves are a deeply religious race that is dedicated to hard work, art, and craftsmanship. Unfortunately the dwarven homeland was conquered by the Neuri empire and most of the dwarves have been turned into slaves. A small community of dwarves escaped the conquest of their homeland and have set up their own homes amid rich farmlands.
Tokoloshe: Tokoloshe are one of the smaller races, only slightly taller than the halflings. They have elfin faces, pointed ears, clawed hands, fangs and leather wings, which they can use to glide. Most tokoloshe cities are safely set up on cliff faces, often along the coast. The tokoloshe have been known to become talented sailors and pirates.
Fomorians: Fomorians are the largest of the races. They have long arms that can reach to the ground and legs shaped for powerful pushing, allowing them to run quickly on all fours. Their faces are long, almost like a gorilla’s (although less hairy). Their appearance has caused many races to call them “Apies” a term that is considered offensive. The fomorian homeland is a place of abundance, and as such the fomorian have not felt much need to interact with the other races until the recent Neuri expansion. Awakened to the potential of enemy invaders, the fomorians have begun learning more about the other races in hopes of establishing allies in times of trouble.
Humans: Humans are one of the more commonly found races. There are several human nations each with their own cultures. The human nations feel very little political bonds with each other over their shared race, and will ally with races of other nations as often as with those of their own.
